Senior DevOps Engineer
- Remote
- Bucharest, București, Romania
Job description
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a digital engineering team supporting a large-scale eCommerce platform and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate is highly hands-on, able to work independently, and comfortable owning infrastructure decisions with minimal oversight.
The role has a strong AWS foundation, with a significant focus on CDN technologies, edge security, and an upcoming evaluation of Cloudflare as a potential replacement for Akamai.
Location: Remote
Allocation: Ideally full time (40 hours/week), although exceptional candidates may initially start part time.
Job requirements
Key Responsibilities
• Design, operate, and improve AWS infrastructure supporting production applications.
• Own Kubernetes/EKS environments, deployments, upgrades, and operational troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage GitOps deployments (ArgoCD preferred).
• Support production infrastructure, incident response, and operational improvements.
• Optimize cloud reliability, security, and cost.
• Work closely with engineering teams while being able to independently own infrastructure decisions.
Important – CDN / Edge Experience
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following is highly preferred:
• Akamai (Content Delivery and/or Security)
• Cloudflare
• CloudFront
The client is currently using Akamai and is beginning to evaluate a potential migration to Cloudflare, so experience with enterprise CDN platforms, edge security, caching, WAF, TLS, and traffic management is a major advantage.
Candidates should be comfortable designing, operating, and troubleshooting CDN environments and participating in architecture discussions around future migration strategies.
