The Role

We're looking for a Staff Product Engineer to be a technical anchor of the team the person who owns the architecture and the domain model for core parts of the platform, sets the standard for how we build, and turns ambiguous problems into working product. You'll write code every day, and you'll shape what others build on top of.

"Product engineer" for us means someone who thinks in products and systems, not in frontend or backend silos. You care about the user and the business as much as the architecture, and you move fluently from a data model to a UI to a conversation with a stakeholder. At staff level, you do this while lifting the people around you.

You'll carry technical leadership on your areas: direction, standards, breaking down work, unblocking people, and reviewing the work that matters.

What You'll Do

• Own the architecture and domain model for core parts of the platform — how transactions, portfolios, and money movement are represented and processed

• Make foundational technical decisions others build on, and be accountable for them

• Write production code across the stack; lead by building, not by delegating

• Set engineering standards — testing, review, observability, how we ship — and hold the bar

• Break down ambiguous problems into work the team can execute, and unblock people when they get stuck

• Mentor engineers and raise the level of everyone around you

• Partner directly with product and leadership on what to build and why

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years building production software, with a track record of staff-level impact:

you've owned a domain from ambiguity to production and others followed your technical lead
Product-and-systems thinking: you're genuinely full-stack in mindset and reach for whatever the problem needs; you've shipped user-facing product and designed the systems beneath it

• Technical leadership without needing a title: you've set direction and standards and mentored, and people followed because of the quality of your judgment

• Entrepreneurial: you're energized by a blank page, ambiguity, and owning outcomes, not just tickets

• Strong across a modern web stack: React on the frontend, and TypeScript/Node.js or JVM (Java/Kotlin) on the backend; we care about range and judgment more than any single language

• Solid PostgreSQL and data-modeling instincts

• Startup DNA: high autonomy, comfortable wearing many hats, biased to action

• Excellent communication: you can explain a hard technical trade-off to an engineer and to a stakeholder

The ideal candidate has

• Depth in financial-systems correctness: ledgers, settlement, reconciliation, idempotency. If you can own the money-movement core as well as the product, you're exactly who we're looking for.

• Private-markets, investment-platform, or securities domain experience

• Experience as an early engineer at a startup that scaled

Location & Work Style

Based in Bahrain office, but we'd consider fully remote employees outside Bahrain within 3 hours time difference. This role requires close collaboration with product and finance teams.
